Mauritius - the pearl in the Indian Ocean

Even Mark Twain gushed over one hundred years of the island in the Indian Ocean and wrote, created "First, Mauritius, then heaven. But that heaven was copied after Mauritius. "One could not better describe, because Mauritius has it all, what makes a vacation paradise and we can forget the daily stress. The 1865-square-kilometer island has more to offer than just miles of white sandy beaches, palm trees and blue sea.

Who was there once, you will love Mauritius. Many tourists come not just once but a second and third time they come for the first visit the beautiful beaches with its blue lagoon and the coral reef with its colorful underwater world. Later than the second or third vacation they get an insight into the cultural diversity and the warmth of the lovely people who lived peacefully in spite of different cultures and religions. Mauritius also offers a breathtaking nature, which can be explored during numerous excursions and excellent cuisine with many Mauritian specialties. Even sports fans get their money in golf, sailing, water skiing, windsurfing, horseback riding and much more.

Each year more than half a million tourists from all over the world, the tropical paradise and it's hard to believe that in the 50s was still not a hotel on the island. Mauritius is still propagated as a luxury residence with outstanding service. However, it is a mistake to think that Mauritius is only the rich. On the island there are not only luxurious hotels, but also numerous private apartments and bungalows, which are usually very low rents to tourists.

 The self-catering facilities on the island are very good. There is a wide selection of very well-stocked supermarkets, snack bars, street stalls and cheap restaurants. Hygiene in Mauritius is usually very good, so that you can even with a sensitive stomach to eat anything without hesitation. It would be a shame to book half-board, since otherwise one must give up the pleasure of the many culinary delights.

Mauritius is also a shopper's paradise. There are many modern shopping center with a wide choice of quality products, for example, in Port Louis, Grand Baie, Quatre Bornes, Curepipe, Rose Hill and Phoenix. Also, one can very reasonably priced food, clothing, baskets, dishes, shoes and explore more markets. Is the well-known market it in Quatre Bornes. Many outlet stores that are scattered around the island, invite you to bargain shopping from fashion and textiles from renowned manufacturers. Interesting souvenirs are also scale replica ship models that are looking at it in some shops and buy.

    Mauritius is a beautiful place to spend holidays.I have been to Mauritius three times and each time i enjoyed my holidays very much.Our resort was exactly in front of the beach.
